3 for Thursday!!!

Whoa!  I almost didn't make it!  Let's go!

Three things that is stole borrowed from my kids' Halloween stash.
1.  All the Baby Ruth mini bars.
2.  A caramel apple.
3.  Smarties.

Three things I buy that have to be name brand.
1.  Dawn dish soap.  Nothing works better.
2.  Chewy Chips Ahoy.
3.  Edy's Rocky Road ice cream.  It is the only one left with real marshmallows.

Three things I spend more than 15 minutes doing every day.
1.  Pinterest.
2.  Sleep during Sesame Street (late nights, early mornings = Mommy has earned a daily nap.)
3.  Try so hard to keep up with bloggy friends and e-mails.

Three things that put me in a fantastic mood.
1.  Belting out a good song.
2.  Talking on the phone with my mom or sisters.
3.  A good hug and/or kiss from the Mister.
Three things I do that a grown woman has no right to be doing anymore.
1.  Use any excuse I can to put glitter on my face.
2.  Watch only the Disney channel.  (Ok, I branch out sometimes, but rarely.  The TV is only on when the kids are awake.)
3.  Freak out (just a little) when I go to the basement at night to change the laundry.

Three pictures:
I just recently uploaded a bunch of photos from my iPod.  These are all from my trip home this summer.

Me and one of my sweet nieces.

Maybe I should have listed this under one of the things a grown woman has no right doing.
This is one of about 5 pictures of me and my sister, Erin.

Ok, perhaps I'm brown-nosing name-dropping a little here, but...
I got to visit with Evelyn when we went home.  This is in my mom's backyard and that boy that L is lovingly gazing at is Evelyn's son, Dee.  I thought she should see that.  =)

There!  Now, to join in the fun, head over to Evelyn's blog, Hanging By a Silver Lining!

Hoo Are You #46

NightOwlCrafting

1.  How did you spend the 4th of July?

Well, we were going to go to a movie and then drive somewhere for a picnic and fireworks show (our town had their celebration on Saturday and I had to work).  But, the Mister came home on Friday and informed me that our car was broken.  It can be fixed but we had to order the part and it won't be here until today (Tuesday) or Wednesday.  So...we stayed home.  We had a picnic on our front lawn.  It rained a lot so we took a tarp and laid it over our heads (Mister and I were the tent posts!) while we ate and giggled.  Mister took his truck and bought us some fireworks, so we stayed up late and set off our own fireworks.  The girls were thrilled!  O thought they were so pretty that she called them Princess fireworks.  You know that is seriuos.

2.  What were a couple of favorite things you ate for the 4th of July?

Fried chicken....mmmmmmm!
Watermelon.
Soft caramel popcorn.

3.  Did you watch fireworks?

Just the princess fireworks we set off in front of our house.  Nothing big this year.

4.  What is your favorite firework?

Well, I have always been a lover of sparklers.  But, I think my favorite this year was what we named the Cupcake fireworks.  They looked like little fireworks.  Once they were lit, they spun in a few circles and then took off into the air...way up in the air...with a little *zing* sound.  It was thrilling!

5.  How hot was it where you were for the 4th?

Hmmm...I didn't really check the thermometer, but I would guess in the mid-80s.  And it was super humid because it was a little stormy.

Head over to Night Owl Crafting to play along!

Hoo Are You #43

NightOwlCrafting

1.  How often do you wash your vehicle?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!  I don't.  I may have once or twice before, but it is just not something I think of.  If my car or van looks particularly dirty, I might spray it with a hose, but that's about as fancy as I get.  I do try to clean the interior at least once a month though...you know, to control the clutter.

2.  When riding in a car with someone, who usually drives, them or you?

It depends on whose car it is.  Or if it is the Mister and I, I usually let him drive so I can take a nap.  If it is me and my kids, I drive.  =)  If it is me and a friend in my car, I drive; if we are in their car, I let them drive.  Also, when I'm pregnant, I like to drive so I don't get carsick...unless I'm in labor.  Then the Mister drives.

3.  How many states have you traveled through or to?

Wow.  A lot.  I have been in most of the west coast states:  Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana....I think that's all.  I have driven across the country twice, once across the bottom states and once across the top states.  I live now in West Virginia and I lived once in Florida.  I've been around!

4.  What kind of music do you listen to the most?

Anything I can sing to.  That can include Broadway (lots of Broadway), country, Adele, Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Regina Spektor, Debbie Gibson, Gloria Estefan...and those are just the ones that come to mind quickly.  If I can sing to it, I'll listen to it.

5.  Do you prefer the window down or air conditioning?

I love driving with the window down.  But, if it is too hot the air conditioner is pretty nice to have.  Also, I don't like the noise of the wind blowing when I am on the highway so use the air conditioner then too.

Three for Thursday Link-Up!

Three favorite words:
1.  Discombobulate.
2.  Fantastic.
3.  Clearance.

Three things that won't be allowed in heaven:
1.  Ants.
2.  Cookies without chocolate.
3.  Laundry.

Three crafty things I do:  Honestly, I'm eager to try just about anything, but I have found that I am particularly fond of:
1.  Crochet (I love amigurumi!)
2.  Covering things with Mod Podge.
3.  Quiet/activity books for my kids (ok, that one is just a plan, but still...)

Three things I swore I would NEVER do when I became a parent, but now find myself doing:
1.  Overreacting.
2.  Not reading books to them as often as I had planned.
3.  I can't think of anything else.  I didn't really go into parenthood with a firmly set plan on things I wouldn't do.  Sorry!

Three favorite quotes:
1.  "Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough."  Emily Dickinson
2.  "We were created with the express purpose and potential of experiencing a fullness of joy.  Our birthright--and the purpose of our great voyage on this earth--is to seek and experience eternal happiness.  One of the ways we find this is by creating things."  Dieter F. Uchtdorf
3.  "Remember who you are."  Mom

Three names I would never dream of giving my children:
1.  Mickey (that might shock some people).
2.  Buzz.
3.  Bubba.

Three things I plan to do for Memorial Day weekend:  Is that this weekend!  Yay!  That means no school on Monday!
1.  Maybe we'll have a barbecue!
2.  Maybe we'll play outside.
3.  Definitely we're eating some ice cream.

Three blogs I love to visit:
1.  Evelyn at Hanging by A Silver Lining!  (Giving the love back!)  It was always awesome that she considered me a friend when she was hanging out with my sister, but now I feel like we are friends independent of any one else.  I love that.
2.  Too many craft blogs to list....I'm addicted.  Seriously.
3.  My sister's blogs:  Writerbrained (it's a writing blog, so not much of it really applies to me, but I still love to read it.  It makes me feel closer to her.) and The Beautiful Life (I want to be like Erin in so many ways!).
4.  My sister-in-law's blog:  Lulu's Little Thoughts.

Three things that make my husband/partner the luckiest man alive:
1.  I can cook.  Really, really cook.
2.  I am funny.
3.  I make really pretty babies, and I don't complain (too much) along the way.

Three pictures:
Do you see it?  Outside the window, there is a deer grazing.  I was sitting there with O, I looked up, and saw the deer!  Whoa!  It started walking away before I got a good picture, but still...Whoa!

L and me (without makeup or nice hair, friends...I'm a brave one!) sitting at the sewing machine.  She insisted on helping.  When I pulled out the camera, she said "Cheese!" (sounds more like, "chzzzz").  I think it is safe to call that her first word beyond Mommy and Daddy.

L again and the pile of chewed up crayon I pulled out of her mouth.  Yum.
